AN OFFICE VISIT

• Wear loose fitting clothing, drink water and have
  a light snack prior to appointment.
• Bring copies of medical records specific to
  your condition.
• Allow an hour for initial consultation and treatment.

For chronic conditions, 5–10 treatments usually are needed as the body requires time to re-establish healthy patterns.

Dr. McSweeney uses sterile, disposable, surgical grade stainless steel needles which are inserted and retained in the body for 20–30 minutes. Many people find acupuncture a relaxing experience.

Depending on your diagnosis, modalities such as electric stimulation, gua sha, cupping, low level laser therapy or infrared and diathermy heat may be used. Chinese herbs may be prescribed.
